In the Night

By: Lizzy Marie Gee

The calm of the darkening night,
It makes the walls of my mind crumble and fade,
Releasing the purest of clarity,
Purest of sight,
Sanest of thought,
Who says you can’t see in the night,
Because as soon as the walls disappear,
I can see a new kind of light,
That dissolves the fear,
Brighter than a star,
Brighter than the headlights of a passing car,
The calm of the darkening night,
Helps to discover the hidden path towards the peak,
Bringing along the everlasting fight,
That we brave souls face everyday,
It makes the walls of my mind crumble and fade,
Releasing the purest of clarity,
Sanest of thought,
The purest of sight,
Sanest of thought,
Who says you can’t see in the darkness,
In the night.
