FILM SHOTS

Pre-listening:

Which films have you seen with particularly memorable music?

While listening:
Now you are going to see a film, but it will be your private film. You will hear some
music and while it is playing and using your imagination think about where you are, who is
there and what is happening. So relax, close your eyes and watch the cinema screen in your
heads. After hearing the excerpt, you will have 3-4 minutes to write down in note form what
you saw.

Which was your favourite piece? Which gave you the most ideas?

After listening
Basing yourself on your notes and the excerpts you listened to, write a 150 word
description (about 3 paragraphs) of the scene you imagined. Make sure you narrate in the
present simple and continuous. We can consider this a descriptive narrative so you need to use
vivid adjectives to describe the setting, the people, and the actions in your film. Make your
words come alive. Your compositions should include these elements. Remember you are
narrating a visual scene so use as much detail as possible. If you have problems, go to Aula
Cesga and listen to the music again.
