Autumn Breeze

BY: Lizzy Marie Gee

They were once green,

Then they turned bright gamboges,
Then they changed to spectrums of orange,
Then finally became cherry scarlet,
The elated scene outside my window,
Lying in my homey shelter I can see,
The foliage merging with the morning sun,
Now the chill of fall, of wintery skies,
The laughter playing in the leaves has begun,
This change brings a sense,
A mark of time,
That life is moving forward,
The chilling breeze is my sign,
Now I step out into a new world,
I hear a calling that is mine,
The wind,
The breeze,
The autumn,
The freeze,
The laughs,
The aches,
The moments that we shall make,
Feel the autumn breeze,
Feel the hugs that go straight to the soul,
And hide you from the darkening shadows,
And the winds will carry me high,
Autumn breeze is starting,
Autumn breeze brings you back,
You’re back now to the light of the world,
The air is in a constant swirl,
The leafages are forever in a sightly twirl,
The seasons are delivering a newly arisen feel,
The breeze is the seal,
It whispers my name,
Tickling my skin,
Helping me strengthen my flame,
Feel the autumn breeze,
I hope these moments I can seize,
The autumn breeze,
They were once green,
Then they started changing...
