It is an online game on Facebook network. This game is a valuable game for

anyone wants to learn Geography. It is useful also to teach kids in a simple way

how to study Geography and remember what they studied. Geo Challenge is a

smarter way to test your geography online. It is an educational game and also

social game created by PLAYFISH. The game is wonderfully presented with an

easy to use. The game has three mini games in it that is World Tour, European

Tour and US Tour. You need to pay $4.99 to be able to play the European Tour

while US Tour is not yet available.

In the World Tour game, there are 4 parts:

Suitcase Shuffle In this part of the game, you will need to choose the correct
flag for the country name shown at the top of the game screen. The first 4 set
has 3 flags to choose from, the rest has 6 flags to choose from. The game will
eliminate 2 flags for 2 times when you haven't punch in your answer.

Map Mayhem This is where you are given a shape of a country and you need to
choose which country it is. The game will show the map around that country to
help you answer the question.

City Blitz In City Blitz, you will see a complete world map. A name of a city will
appear at the top of the game screen and you have to punch a needle, by
clicking your mouse at the location of that city. When you don't know the answer,
the game will help you by giving the name of the country where the city is
located.

Landmark Loco Just like City Blitz, but instead of a city name, you will see a
picture of a landmark around the world and you have to click where the landmark
is located. All the game part has 60 seconds time limit to start with, you will get
extra 5 seconds for every 10 correct answers.

Evaluation:

This game is fun and teachable. I know must of educational games are boring

when people start to play it, but this game is different. The game is wonderfully

presented with an easy to use interface, non-intrusive yet atmospheric music,

and attractive graphics. As soon as users clicks play they are immediately able to

comprehend the game play, and proceed through a series of matching-style mini-
games. Players begin in the midst of a busy airport and start sorting tourist

suitcases by matching country names to their corresponding flags.

Perhaps the only drawback is wrong with this game is you can’t play it out of

Facebook. You have to be one of Facebook member and allow this application to

your profile and then play it. Users, who are not members in Facebook, will not

be able to enjoy this game.

Reflection:

As I said before, this game is to enhance our geography knowledge. The game

includes good social context. Geo Challenge allows users to invite friends and

challenge their knowledge of the world against your own. The app also shows

just the player’s friends, players within the same city, or a global leader board by

week, month, or all time. Players are also capable of earning and receiving

trophies for display. These trophies are earned through specific achievements

like, “Score over 10,000 points without making a mistake.”

Geo Challenge is a game that fits the definition of an educational game and

combines it with the social aspects they are known for. It does help to recall

some of the basic worldly knowledge most people tend to forget after passing

that high school geography class.

Conclusion:

Geo Challenge is a fun, educational, and great looking social game. I believe it is

an attractive game to teach geography. YES, it can attract adults and children to

play it. It is simple, easy, useful, practical, tutorial, and informative. I really

recommend it for all who think their geographical information is no more exist in

their brain.
