Objectives:
• Students will locate the areas on a map where the Maya, Inca, and Aztec lived

Materials/Resources:
• Google Earth

• SMART Board

• KWL

Teaching Strategies/Student Engagement:

• As a class, we will discuss the geography of each of the three civilizations, making
predictions about the areas.

• Individually, Students will complete a KWL about the geography of the civilizations,
including landforms, water, etc.

• As a class, we will join together again and access Google Earth to see if student
predictions were correct, along with completing the last column of the individual KWL
charts

Assessment:
• KWL charts will be formatively assessed, and participation in discussion will be
documented.
