might sound unlikely, but that's what RunKeeper Free provides. The app uses an iPhone's GPS capabilities to track your jogging route, and provides mapping and details of pace and calories burned. Activities can be shared online, and treadmill runs can be entered manually. 2. Thomson Reuters News Pro
There are many free news apps, but Reuters News
Pro offers a breadth of coverage that makes it a winner. Preferences enable you to tailor the app's output to the UK, and the toolbar provides swift access to news, pictures, videos and stock markets coverage. 3. Comics
Comics is a little awkward compared to using it on
an iPad, but you won't find a better comics experience on an iPhone. The app is free, as are dozens of downloadable comics - and once you run out of those, many more are available to buy. Reading works on a frame-by-frame automated 'zoom' basis, and is surprisingly usable. 4. Wikipanion
The Wikipedia website works fine on iPhones, but a
dedicated app is a better bet. Wikipanion is a freebie which gives you quick access to article sections, in-article search, viewing options, bookmarking, and the ability to tweet about whatever odd fact you've just unearthed. Also, wonderfully, there are no ads. 5. CNNMoney (News, Stock, Video)
CNNMoney iPhone application delivers breaking
business news and comprehensive market coverage from the leader in business and financial news. The application includes news, analysis, financial data and original video content. 6. Where
Ever need to find the nearest Starbucks? The
cheapest gas? The best restaurants? Where your friends are? Well you can find that and more by using Where on your iPhone. Where lets you connect with the people and places around you. You'll always be able to get something to eat or a cup of coffee with—Where. 7. Shazam
Ever hear a song but wonder who the artist is
that sings it? With Shazam you can find out who the artist is and what the track name is. You can also buy the music you hear (from iTunes), see related videos on YouTube, save your tag history and personalize your tags with photos. And you can share your tags with friends via Mail. 8. Facebook
Are you a social networking junkie? Facebook lets
you start a conversation with Facebook Chat, upload photos to facebook, check your friends' status or photos, or even look up a phone number. Facebook promises to add more features in the future. 9. WeatherBug
Need to know the weather? WeatherBug lets you
get satellite weather maps, current radar, detailed forecasts, weather cameras, and severe weather alerts. You can get weather from 45,000 locations all over the world. A weather junkie's dream! 10. VoiceNotes
Ever wanted to remember something but don't
feel like typing into into the iPhone? Use VoiceNotes instead and record a short audio message for later reference. Why type when you can speak with this useful iPhone app? Mário Lopes
