Trade unions play an important role in employee compensation by advocating for fair wages, benefits, and working conditions for workers. They work to ensure transparency in wage plans and participation in incentive programs. Trade unions also push for factors like cost of living, productivity, and prevailing wage rates to be considered when determining compensation. They aim to represent employee voices and resolve problems around communication of wage changes, inconsistent incentive standards, and lack of supervision in compensation programs.
