Dixie Nationals is the biggest and toughest youth wrestling tournament in the Southeast. Wrestlers from all over
the country travel to Atlanta to take part in this challenging tournament. For the first time in the history of the
Takedown Club we will be organizing a trip to take those wrestlers who want to test themselves against some of
the top youth wrestlers in the country.

This will be the inaugural trip in what will become a permanent part of the Takedown Club͛s yearly event
schedule. This tournament isn͛t for every wrestler, as even those experienced wrestlers will find climbing
through the bracket a very tough task. For those who make the trip, the experienced gained regardless of
matches won or lost, will be invaluable.

One of my goals as the Director for the Club is to seek opportunities to expose our kids to the level of
competition found at tournaments such as these. It is a process that will certainly benefit each and every
wrestler as they grow in the club.

As December 29th isn͛t that far away, I will need to start finalizing travel and registration plans in the near
future. The plan would be to leave early on Tuesday December 28th as a group to travel to Atlanta. Stay in a
hotel on Tuesday night, wrestle Wednesday the 29th and leave to return to Summerville when the last wrestler
is finished, with a late Wednesday night arrival back in Summerville. The club will be exploring some
sponsorship opportunities to subsidize as much of the cost as possible for each wrestler. Depending on the
amount of wrestlers committed to attend, the club will also explore securing mass transportation to the event.
Parents, I encourage and welcome all of you to attend the event with your child. We will work to provide
affordable packages to accommodate that also. However if you would like your child to attend, but can͛t attend
yourself, rest assured your wrestler will be supervised 100% of the time by the coaches/chaperones on the trip. I
will need for those who are truly interested to respond ASAP to allow us to finalize travel plans and provide any
cost estimates. If you͛re unsure if your wrestler is ready for this level of tournament, I will gladly discuss this
with you. At this time I would like any parent who would like there wrestler to attend the trip and can commit
to the trip to complete the below information and turn the form back in to myself by 11/22. Forms can be
