Background
Slavery has existed since ancient times in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
The Trans-Atlantic slave trade (white Europeans selling black Africans in the
Americas) began in the 1500’s. Slaves were transported from Africa to the
Americas across the Atlantic Ocean. This trade is incredibly profitable and many
people build their fortunes on the back of others’ suffering
