The Things We Have

Seen and Heard

Adrian Sarli
During the night Paul had a vision of a man
of Macedonia standing and begging him,
“Come over to Macedonia and help us.”
After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready
at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding
that God had called us to preach the gospel
to them. Acts 16:9-10
But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing
hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
Acts 16:25
Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the
foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately
all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were
loosed. And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep
and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners
had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself.
But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself
no harm, for we are all here.” Acts 16:26,27
Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what
has happened to me has actually served to advance the
gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the
whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in
chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the
brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord
and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.
Phil. 1:12-14
But the following night the Lord stood by him and said,
“Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me
in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.”
Acts 32:11
All God’s people here send you greetings, especially
those who belong to Caesar’s household. Phil.
4:22
“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not
believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom
they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a
preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are
sent?
Romans 10:13-15
For we cannot but speak the things
which we have seen and heard.
Acts 4:20
