Hello, my name is Katelyn Woodbury, from the 5 th ward.

I have been asked to talk on the topic of

Education. And to warm up, to start off, we are going to be stretching.

Stretching before a workout is very important. It helps us to become more limber and flexible. It helps
prevent injuries during a rigorous workout.

Education can in some ways be similar to the principle of stretching.

We need to stretch our minds thru education to help us prepare for the rigorous workout during our
life’s journey.

Education is important because:

 Education can help open doors in both this life and our next life.
- the knowledge we gain know will be with us in the next life
 you can provide for your family
 you can live your life to the fullest and bless other peoples lives not just your own

alma 37:35 -- O, remember, my son, and alearn bwisdom in thy cyouth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the
commandments of God.

 it is just as important to gain an education from school as it is to gain an education from church

Education – Gordon B Hinckley

opportunity for you. It is worth sacrificing for. It is worth working at, and if you educate
your mind and your hands, you will be able to make a great contribution to the society of
which you are a part, and you will be able to reflect honorably on the Church of which
you are a member. My dear young brothers and sisters, take advantage of every
educational opportunity that you can possibly afford, and you fathers and mothers,
encourage your sons and daughters to gain an education which will bless their lives”
(meeting, Hermosillo, Mexico, 9 Mar. 1998).

 Education can come from more than just book learning. We should be seeking
to develop ourselves in the all of our talents as time permits.
As future mothers in Zion, we need to prepare ourselves with a solid foundation for life,
and our future families, by gaining a solid foundation of knowledge and wisdom.

I am thankful for the opportunities I have to gain an education, both in school, as well as
develop my talents and serve others.

I believe these are true.

I say these things………..s
