‘Recruitment Policy’ should throw light on a formal selection process for teaching/ non-

teaching staff and composition of selection committee. The job-descriptions and specifications
should be laid down as per the norms of competent Govt. body providing recognition/ affiliation
to institutes, like AICTE, UGC etc.
The ‘Promotion Policy’ should clearly define the career growth-path on the basis of
qualification and experience of employees and appropriate weight age should be assigned to
academic/ industry experience, again as per the governing body norms.
The ‘Compensation Policy’ should be formulated to provide the compensation packages
that meet up or exceed the minimum prescribed pay-scales. The component of ‘Performance
linked pay’ can also be introduced and incentives can be given on the basis of achievement of
pre-defined targets.
‘Development Policy’ can be implemented to ensure continuous training & development
opportunities for the employees like faculty members can be encouraged to participate in
research-work, go for certifications in relevant areas of study.
Besides, ‘General conditions of service’, holidays, leave rules; disciplinary regulations,
special allowances and code of ethics need to be defined aptly and implemented uniformly.
