According to the educational writers Leedy and Ormrod, Research is “a systematic

process of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting information (data) in order to increase

our understanding of the phenomenon about which we are interested or concerned.”

Again it is a careful study of a subject, especially in order to discover new facts or

information about it.

Research is designed to solve a particular existing problem so there is a much larger

audience eager to support research that is likely to be profitable or solve problems of
immediate concern.  We also must understand how research impacts our decision
making.  Most people make decisions without gathered informations to back them up.

Research requires time, effort, and sometimes money to have the evidence you need to
make a sound decision.  The research we do and evidence we gather will have impact on
our future.  One must be advised, considered the risks or consequences of making an
important decision with inadequate evidence.

Again it helps the individual to be abreast of the environmental as well as global issues
bothering a community.

In conclusion research is very vital to our everyday decision making.  It arms one from
wrong information and save time and money.  It is important to one’s success as he or she
takes on life's challenges and career decisions making.  Too much research without action
on what you’re learning is not good.  The question is how much information is enough?
