Communication problem in Nepalese business firms:

Hierarchy problem: Unclear hierarchy is the major problem of Nepalese firm. Employees in the firm
are unaware about the chain of command. They don’t know whom to report and whom to give order.
Many top level managers may be working at same level of hierarchy, if they give different order to
lower level employees. Then the employees will be at confusion regarding whose order should be
responded first.

Attitude problem: In Nepal people always want to show that they are most important for the
organization. So, they try to show their attitude. So, they may hide many important information and
share only with TLM in thought of getting promotion.

Technology factor: Nepalese businesses are unable to train their employee regarding the new
technology they are using. Many employees in the organization cannot use the software and other
technology, which has created huge information gap between TLM and low level employees.

Office layout: Companies are unable to maintain their layout as per the information flow. Office
layout should be such that information must flow as per the management hierarchy.

Departmental interaction: If the relation between two dept. head is not good then they may not share
information with each other.
