I hereby declare that I did my Summer Internship Project with Kotak Mahindra Old Mutual

Life Insurance Limited, (Website: www.mykotaklife.com) from 19th February to 26th May
2007.

I was assigned the task of “designing a suitable individual financial portfolio” with the help
of the data collected with a self designed questionnaire. Thereby, I had to select the target
customers for whom I will be designing the portfolio.

Profile/ Key result area:

 I was given the profile of a life advisor.
 Reporting on the several policy log-ins and keeping a track of the mindset of the
customers.
 I had to design a questionnaire for the purpose of primary data collection and later on
conduct a random survey for the purpose of data collection.
 I also had to undertake many literature reviews for the purpose of validation of the
primary data collected.

Reporting:
I reported to the manager sales of Kotak life insurance limited, Mr. Arghya Pramanik, who
acted as the delivery head for this particular project.

Team constitution:
The core team was made up of two people including me. We were working on the same
project and the data collection was made easier with the combined effort of two of us.

Learning during the project:

I learnt a lot during the project. Firstly it provided me a much needed corporate exposure,
working with team, business communication and prioritizing work. Though we are
continuously given inputs on soft skills and business communication during our programme,
yet I feel there is no better place to hone the skills than the workplace. I also learnt to interact
in business terms with company’s clienteles. I also learnt the use of statistical tools like
SPSS, etc.
Preparation/ Achievements/ Recognition:
A questionnaire was prepared much before hand the time of the starting of the data collection.
It was only possible because I started preparing my inputs from well in advance and which
made my work easier in the remaining part of the project.
