1. 15 aug 1947 when india got freedom in
junagarh it was banned to celebrate
indepedance day Dhiru Bahi held meeting
and flag hosting ceremony was held
Dhirubhai delivered his first public speech.
2. At the age of 17 he went to Aden and
worked for A. Besse & Co. Ltd. The sole
selling distributor of Shell products.
3. In the year 1958 he returned to Mumbai
and started his First company Reliance
Commercial Company, a commodity
trading and export house
4. In 1966 he started textile mill in Naroda,
Ahemdabad
5. Today the Relience Group has one of the
largest family of shareholders in the world.

a major stroke. This was
his second stroke
He died on July 6, 2002, at
around 11:50 P.M. (Indian
Standard Time).
He was cremated at the
Chandanwadi Crematorium in
Mumbai at around 4:30 PM
(Indian Standard Time) on July
7, 2002.
