ENERGY RESOURCE PLAN

ASSIGNMENT: ENERGY PLAN 2

Conserving energy has always been a huge thing in my house, things such as turning the

lights off, turn the air conditioner off when nobody is home, turning water off while brushing

teeth, and of course recycling all recyclables. Some people might think that we could easily

generate all of the energy we need with nuclear power. I have heard that the Universe has a

major amount of energy for us to use, whether it’s tidal, sun, waterfalls, or even wind and

geothermal (Iceland). I personally believe that our current source’s existence is infinite, they are

not renewable. Alternatives will become more practical as our fossil fuels dry up. It may not take

a long time but I am sure I will see money different kinds of energy in the future.

Renewable and non renewable resources are two completely different terms. Non

renewable resource is a natural resource that cannot be re grown, re made, or regenerated. The

problem with these resources that are being used up faster and being renewed more quickly than

it can process. Nature can only work in ways that it’s used to. Certain types of fossil fuels like

petroleum, natural gas, and coal are non-renewable resources. Renewable resources are resources

that use natural resources appropriately, natural resources such as sunlight, tides, wind and

geothermal heat, these resources are naturally replenished.

As a community, we need to be proactive and we need to conserve energy. I think one

good idea would be to start a community garden, one in which we would grow our own fruits

and vegetables and in the process we would be saving on water because we would not be using

as much. Another great way to conserve energy would be using public transportation to go

everywhere and anywhere. We would be conserving and decreasing the amount of Carbon

Monoxide in our community and communities surrounding us. Finally, I believe that going

through our houses and unplugging plugs out of the outlets that we do not use. Energy runs

through those cords as long as they are plugged in.

I believe that the government could be involved in conservation efforts by making

conservation a national priority, the best way to do this would be to make a list of all the

different priorities and make a time limit for each one. I feel that each priority should be just as

important as Trinity being built or as getting men on the moon.

When someone mentions the word energy, people usually think of power, this power that

people think of come from either renewable or non renewable resources. If we increase our

awareness, we could very easily decrease our expenses and consumption of resources.
