• Individuals tend to act in certain ways based
on the expectation that the act will be
followed by a given outcome and the
attractiveness of the outcome.
• Focus is on the linkages:
– Effort and Performance
– Performance and Rewards
– Attractiveness (Rewards and Individual Goals)
