Measure I Opponents Gather for “Rally for Tax Relief”

October 15, 2008—Long Beach, CA---Opponents of Measure I, the


Mayor’s Infrastructure Parcel Tax—will meet en masse for the first time
this Saturday.

The “Rally for Tax Relief”, sponsored by the No on Measure I committee,


will be a time when opponents can hear from leading opponents, pick up
yard signs, and even get materials and precinct lists to walk against the
measure.

The event will take place at the south side of Wardlow Park in East Long
Beach. It will kick off at 10 am with leaders speaking in opposition, then
to a precinct walk, followed by free hot dogs and beverages for
volunteers (ending at 2pm).

Confirmed speakers include Former Mayor Eunice Sato, 54th District


Assembly Candidate Gabriella Holt, and Kathy Ryan, Co-Chair of the Long
Beach Taxpayers Association. Invited but unconfirmed is 5th District
Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske.

Attendance to this event is free, everyone interested is invited, and it is


open to the press.
