MANILA, Philippines - Although Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile lauds Manny Pacquiao's
triumphs in boxing, he believes those do not make him qualified to run for the country's top
posts, especially the presidency.Enrile told reporters on Wednesday that although anyone who
meets the Constitutional requisites can run for President, certain standards and qualifications
must be met.As far as Enrile's own standards are concerned, "I'm sorry to say that he [Pacquiao]
will not measure.""Let's not devalue the presidency. Anybody is qualified to be president, but I
doubt whether he can really handle the job as the president of the country," he said. Asked if the
31-year-old Pacquiao can study the ropes of the presidency before meeting the required age of
40, Enrile said he would need someone like the Greek philosopher Socrates to teach him the
"meaning of life."

 Philippines president Benigno Aquino has backed calls for the trial of a Muslim politician, who is
accused of the country's worst political massacre, to be aired live on national television.
