IS I E C D …a huge…. YOU LEAVE HOME!!! DURING THIS WONDERFUL YEAR, YOU WILL DISCOVER… THE NOISE IN A DORMITORY, NOISE IS EVERYWHERE, AT ANYTIME: Your so kind roommate ALWAYS needs to call her mother at midnight… Your friend from the dormitory behind yours looovvveessss to play guitare…at 11 p.m Your two roommates always have passionate debates at the precise moment when you need the maximum concentration for your exam. So schoolwork or party with dorm mates this night??? IF YOU CHOOSE TO SLEEP… DON’T PANIC! JUST FOLLOW SOME ESSENTIAL GUIDELINES TO SURVIVE IN A DORMITORY:
Try hard to get along with your roommates.
Being friends with your college roommate, or at least getting along reasonably well with him or her, will be a key factor in having a good dorm life experience. Even if you don't get along very well, always make an effort to be civil, since living with a person you're constantly fighting with can be pretty miserable. Establish some important rules with your roommates: For example: If your roommate’s boyfriend miss her too much, she can call her…but outside of the room. Everybody knows: « music has charms to soothe a savage breast” but it is also damaging for the sleep. So: your roommate has the right to love the Beatles or Celine Dion, but after 11 p.m she can only imagiiiinnnee all tthe music and the lyrics in her head. Find ways to avoid dorm-life scenarios that you don't wish to be part of, such as late- night partying or an activity that breaks dorm rules. Having a good exit strategy will help you avoid being part of anything you don't want to be involved with as well as potentially keep you out of trouble with dormitory officials. Do not neglect schoolwork in favor of partying with dorm mates every night of the week. The temptation to party with your neighbors in the dorm can be overwhelming, but relegate these activities to the weekend. Getting poor grades in school is not worth the trade-off. If some troubles occur even if you took all these precautions, if your roommates still call their mother until midnight and animate debates when you revise your exam… kill them without any proofs that charge you. No, just kidding. The key word is: COMMUNICATION!!!!!
