Kerry, We can trace two brothers and two sisters of those who came first in the 1860's. Paddy (Bawn) Hartnett was married to a Catherine O'Sullivan, in Gorteen, Ardgroom — just at the back and about 50 yards to the south of Mike (John D.) O'Sullivan’s house; Nell (Bawn) Hartnett. married Jack McCarthy, Cappacluherane, Ardgroom — grandparents of the present John McCarthy. Peig(Bawn) Hartnett married Mike O'Shea, Gortalassa, Barrakilla — parents of Patsy O'Shea; Tadhg (Bawn) Hartnett settled down in Gortalassa, Barrakilla, and married a Catherine O'Sullivan. Another brother of Dan O'Shea went to Barreeragh, above Bonane — between Kenmare and Glengarriff. This brother was the great-grandfather of Jack O'Shea (Faunleave & Canfie) and grandfather of Seamus O'Shea, Curragh, Droumard.
