A)PMP Transcoding Tool

1)PC System Request

a)OS:
Windows 2000, Windows XP or higher
b)Hardware:
CPU: Intel Pentium III 800Mhz or higher
Memory: 256M or higher
Sound card: must install sound card driver
2)Function
a) Convert various video files to 3GP or MP4 files.
b) Convert various audio files to MP3 files.
c) Convert various image files to JPG files.
3)How to use
Q1: Why does the user should install the software such as Window Media Player9.
0, DirectX9.0c, Storm Codec 6.04.08 and QuickTime Alternative1.69?
A1: The 4 components are essential to run Multimedia Transcoding Tool well. If
you missed installing them, errors will occur such as the follows:
a) Without Window Media Player9.0, such as wmv, wma, asf files will not be conve
rted well.
b) Without DirectX9.0c, Transcoding tool cannot run.
c) Without Storm Codec 6.04.08, most media files cannot be converted well.
d) Without QuickTime Alternative1.69, such as mov, 3GP, mp4 files will not be co
nverted well.
Q2: There are some output files converted from MOV, 3GP or MP4 files have no sou
nd in playing. Why?
A2: In default, Storm Codec is installed before QuickTime Alternative1.69. But i
t may has been reinstalled by the user. Please reinstall QuickTime Alternative1.
69 too and this problem will be solved.
Q3: Why the tool is failed in converting some files?
A3: There are three cases.
a) Format of the file is not supported by Multimedia. (Please refer to 3.1 Comm
on Conversion£©
b) There is no sound card on the PC.
c) The file has been damaged.
Q4: Why the Progress bar is stopped when converting from optical disk?
A4: Because get data from optical disk failed. May be the disk driver is ageing
or the disk has quality problem.
