 Psychological technique to get answers without
asking a direct question

 Helps revealing hidden emotions and internal


conflicts

asked to interpret them

motives, attitudes, values and motivation
Advantages:

1. Helps to gather rich and accurate data

2. Helps in generating hypothesis regarding why consumers behave as


they do

3. Problems of refusal, false response, non-cooperation etc. are absent

Disadvantages:

1. Requires trained interviewers and skilled analysts

2.Expensive process

3.Getting subjects is difficult

4.Reliability of measures is difficult to establish
