Not your Grandparent's Gas Well

There is a new form of natural gas drilling coming soon to WNY. Horizontal drilling and the
practice of hydrofracking could affect you:

1. If you have leased or are considering leasing your land.

2. Are being coerced to allow drilling beneath your land.
3. You are a neighbor of an active gas well.
4. Concerned about your community's health, wildlife and the local environment.

This new drilling could cause drinking and fresh water contamination, damage air quality, is
potentially hazardous to our health, wildlife, economy, lands and more.

The DEC and the energy companies assure us all is well and that hydraulic fracturing is sound
technology to extract natural gas, even though Gov. Paterson recently stated, "At this point, I would
say that the hydrofracking opponents have raised enough of an argument to thwart us going forward at this
time". After seeing how the gas and oil industry treated people and nature in the Gulf recently.
Can we really trust them?

But just in case

You might want to learn more about how to protect yourself, your community and the
