 The photoactive device we in our project is the phototransistor. When light reaches a phototransistor,
the electrons that are generated by photons in the base-collector junction are injected into the base.
This current is amplified by the transistor's current gain. With our choice of phototransistor, the current
caused by the incident light is nearly a linear function of the light intensity.

RS232 Cable
In telecommunications, RS-232 (Recommended Standard 232)
is a standard for serial binary single-ended data and control
signals connecting between a DTE (Data Terminal Equipment)
and a DCE (Data Circuit-terminating Equipment). It is commonly
used in computer serial ports. The standard defines the electrical
characteristics and timing of signals, the meaning of signals, and
the physical size and pinout of connectors.

By using MATLAB we can improve any image quality
 
 Potential
 
 
This device can be used as a Blind Aid which can help the blind to read or listen a book.
We could develop on this technology and make it work as the Optacon which is a reading
aid for the blind made through the research at Stanford.
We could use a text to speech IC or software to convert the text images from a book
o audio signals and thus a normal book can be converted to a SPEAKING BOOK.
 
IC’s like TTS256 can be used for this purpose.

 Summary
 
 

We will be looking forward to working on this project. We are very excited about project
and shall implement any extra feature apart from the ones mentioned that might make our project better.
The major task will me to implement the image processing using MATLAB and with that we will have
to improve the image resolution. The Mechanical structure seems to pose another challenge
for us since we are electronics students , but we are sure we shall be able to deal with any problem that
we face specially with the guidance of our experienced faculties.
