USER AGREEMENT: In consideration for the privilege of using, for research purposes, materials in the
Archives of the California Institute of Technology (“Caltech Archives”), I agree to the following:

1. I shall not publish or otherwise reproduce and distribute any material which is the property Caltech without
first obtaining the written permission of the Caltech Archives.
2. The Caltech Archives makes no representation that it is the copyright owner of all of its manuscripts, and
that I am responsible for obtaining permission to publish from the actual copyright owner(s) of the
material.
3. Photographic or other reproduction of any manuscript material is to be made solely for my
convenience in examining the manuscript. I agree that the reproduction will not itself be transferred to
any other person or institution without the written consent of the Caltech Archives. Further, I agree that
the reproduction will not be made available to others on the World-Wide Web or in any other electronic
format.
4. I agree to give credit to the Archives, California Institute of Technology, whenever documentary
source material from the Archives is quoted or summarized, or otherwise used in a publication.
5. I agree to notify the Caltech Archives of any publications resulting from my work in Caltech’s collections.

I understand and agree that a breach of any of the above conditions, and any other reasonable conditions that
may be set forth by the Archives, may result in consequences including the removal or retraction of any
publication resulting from use of the Archives’ collections and the denial of access to the Archives’
collections in the future.
