“We’ll Meet Again . . .

THE GREAT SONGS OF WORLD WAR II
For the many who answered their country’s call, and for sweethearts and family they
left behind, there are certain songs, certain tunes that remain so inextricably linked with the
World War II era that they instantly and insistently stir memories of the hopes and fears,
grit and determination, and yearnings and aspirations experienced by young and old during
those war years: Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Sentimental Journey, Chattanoga Choo Choo,
We’ll Meet Again, Accentuate the Positive, Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, Come Rain or
Come Shine, I’ll be Seeing You, It’s Been a Long, Long Time and the many more.

Beyond merely highlighting the irresistible, iconic music of that era, our Conservatory
singers present a heartfelt homage to our “Greatest Generation” in honor those who fought,
those who returned and those who did not, and those who from the home front faithfully
supported our fighting forces. Taking the stage for our musical Veterans Day tributes are
sopranos Julia Hathaway and Martita Galindo, mezzo-soprano Laryssa Sadoway and
tenor Daniel Epstein. San Francisco Opera Center pianist Ron Valentino accompanies.
