PUBLIC SPEAKING WORKSHOP AGREEMENT

Please print out, read, and sign this agreement prior to the workshop. Bring this
agreement, signed by the scout and a parent/guardian to the first Public Speaking Workshop. A
signed agreement is required for scouts to be allowed to participate in the Public Speaking
Workshop.

This workshop is being provided by our Troop and will be led by adult volunteers--some of
whom have no affiliation with our Troop. It is important that everyone show these adult
volunteers and all participants respect and courtesy.

The Scout Oath and Law are the conduct guidelines at all scout activities. If a scout’s behavior
becomes disruptive or inappropriate, he will be asked to leave and will not be able to continue
with remaining Public Speaking Workshop Sessions.

Scouts should arrive on time and stay for the entire workshop. It is disruptive if scouts arrive
late or leave early. Scouts who do not arrive on time or who leave early more than once will be
asked to leave and will not be allowed to return to the sessions. Scout are required to attend
and to participate in the Showcase and a minimum of six of the other eight sessions.

As a participant in the Public Speaking Workshop, I agree…

 To attend and to participate actively in meetings;

 To arrive on time and stay for the entire meeting;

 To attend and participate in the Showcase;

 To assist with planning and preparations for the Showcase;

 To prepare my speeches to the best of my ability;

 To willingly prepare for and fulfill meeting assignments;

 To provide fellow scouts with helpful, constructive evaluations;

 To help maintain a positive, friendly environment necessary for all scouts to learn and
grow;

 To treat our volunteer adult leaders and my fellow scouts with respect and courtesy;
