-DESTINATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM-

Abstract: The paper is grounded on three distinctive theoretical and research frames: tourist
culture, destination image formation, tourist information search and ICT. By means of an
interdisciplinary approach, the authors argue that the computer-based platform, i.e. Destination
Management System, might be applied in our country as well, as a common framework for
destination image formation within the boundaries of the tourist culture. This would enable a
particular destination to better manage and marketing its image, to improve the promotional
discourse and to shape its own image and national identity.
