RUNNINGHEAD: PUZZLE DESIGN 2

Title: Integrating Technology for Educators Crossword Puzzle.

Educational purpose: This interactive puzzle will provide Spring Branch ISD teachers with a

review of important terminology covered in the first half of the Free Tools for Teachers

workshop provided by Brandy Milson.

Learning objectives: Without using notes or neighbors, Spring Branch ISD teachers will

complete the crossword puzzle called Integrating Technology for Educators in less than thirty

minutes, with at least 90 percent accuracy.

Intended audience: This interactive activity was designed for all Spring Branch ISD teachers

who are taking the Moodle course Free Tools for Educators offered by Brandy Milson.

Intended duration: Spring Branch ISD teachers should use no more than Fifteen to thirty

minutes to complete the puzzle.

The number of items included in the puzzle: This puzzle was created using thirty-nine

technology terms that all teachers should know when completing the first half of the Free Tools

for Educators workshop.

Learning methodology: This instructional unit will utilize Cognitive Information Processing

theory. The goal of the activity is to increase information retention and increase understanding

through completion of a crossword puzzle of introductory technology terms. This exercise is

intended to aid teachers in storing terminology in long term memory.

Moodle placement: This activity will be placed in the October 13th-19th section entitled

Educational Gaming section of the Moodle course Free Tools for Educators. It will be used as a

mid-workshop review to ensure students understand material covered before moving on to the

second half of the workshop.
