Lesson plan Model

Date: September, 8th , 2010 Level: 7° Básico

Skill: Grammar focus, Speaking

Expected Outcomes:
- Students recognize possessive´s in texts, short talks and sentences.
- Students describe their favorite or a created character.
- Students check pronunciation on word stress.

Resources: Student´s book, whiteboard, a white piece of paper and crayons, radio.

Time Comments

Introduction 10 min Greetings, calling the row, session´s objectives.

Core of the class 20 min The teacher makes a short review on possessive´s.
Pre-stage Last class handout checking.
Students listen to the CD audio to check word stress.

While-stage 15 min The teacher explains the use of affirmative and negative
form for have (grammar focus).
Students complete a rule chart and grammar exercises from
the student´s book.
Students do exercises from the student´s book, workbook
part.

Post-stage 25 min Students draw their favorite comic character and describe
him/her in front of the class. Students are selected at
random (evaluated activity).

Closing 20 min The teacher makes a review on the use of have/has. The
teacher and some students start to describe their
classmates. Students are selected at random.
