2008 Battle of the Bands

INFORMATION AND DATES OF PERFORMANCE

• Closing dates for entries: Saturday 1st December 2007

• All Contact persons will be notified if they have successfully been accepted into
the 2008 Grand Central Battle of the Bands by December 14th. With their official
Playing Heat dates and times.
• There are twelve (12) Heats with 4 bands competing in each heat
• There are 3 Semi Finals with the winner of each heat playing in one of the three
semi’s
• The winner of each semi final will then progress onto the Grand final. (3 Bands
competing in Grand Final)
• A Selection process may be required to choose bands. All decisions by judging
panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• The Grand Final winner will receive $10,000, there are no runners up prizes.

Bands will be judged on the following criteria:

(20 points) – Originality
(20 points) – Music Ability and Performance
(10 points) – Presentation and Professionalism

Heat 1: 12th Jan 2008 SEMI 1: 12th Apr 2008

Heat 2: 19th Jan 2008 SEMI 2: 19th Apr 2008
Heat 3: 26th Jan 2008 SEMI 3: 26th Apr 2008
Heat 4: 2nd Feb 2008
Heat 5: 9th Feb 2008 GRAND FINAL
Heat 6: 16th Feb 2008 Saturday 3rd May 2008
Heat 7: 23rd Feb 2008
Heat 8: 1st Mar 2008
Heat 9: 8th Mar 2008
Heat 10: 15th Mar 2008
Heat 11: 29th Mar 2008
Heat 12: 5th Apr 2008

(All Bands are required to be available on all dates for the semi finals and grand
finals)
