Marwaadis :

It is in the family – Marwaris encourage their own people to get into business. Fathers ask
sons to identify a new business line, where they can invest and grow. Certain business
ethics and values are given to marwadis on a daily basis right from childhood and it all
becomes a part of our lives.

It is all kept within the family - Business kept within the Family helps in numerous ways.

1) Working in an environment where more than half your peers belong to one’s own
community becomes very comfortable and profitable.
2) Lot of relatives as peers, less chances of being gypped
3) Financial deals and matters done through word of mouth, since there is an underlying
belief that these promises will be kept.

Perception in general - Marwari businessmen are very committed and sincere to their
customers and seek long-term relationships.

Gujratis:

A very high Risk Appetite- Every Gujarati believes "No wealth without risk".

When it comes to business there is no compromise - Gujratis are shrewd businessmen.

Unlike Marwadis, they tend to hire people with calibre instead of people from their own
community whom might be comfortable working with.
Dear Sir,

Mukesh Sir has pointed out that a few breakages happened during boys visit to LH on the
occasion of Diwali in some years. We understand that such things are totally unacceptable
and go against the spirit of congenial celebrations. Taking this in cognisance SAC takes the
responsibility of ensuring that no such acts of damaging college property takes place in the
LH of both the New and the Old campus during the boys visit this Diwali.

To ensure that no intoward incident occurs, we will not allow more than 20 boys to enter in
LH at one go. Along with it, SAC members will be on vigilance on each floor of LH to see that
no acts of vandalism take place.

We request for opening the girl's hostel for boys for a period of 1hr in the old campus (5PM
to 6PM) and one and half hours (10:30PM to 12AM) in the new campus on the eve of Diwali
on 5th November 2010.

This event has been carried out at GIM on every Diwali and we hope you will help us keep
the tradition alive
