The Pfister, a Milwaukee Landmark

The Pfister Hotel is located in Downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Being built in 1893, it has

become an icon of the downtown area, providing luxurious accommodations to visitors to the

area for over a century. It is known worldwide for its AAA Four-Diamond rating, which signifies

it as one of the best hotels in all the United States. Its ranking is based on the superior comfort

and quality of care the Pfister provides to all guests in their fine establishment. The Pfister

provides a homey feel that is considered to be some of the best in the hotel business. Not only

that, but the Pfister is in the center of everything you’ll want. Being in gorgeous downtown, it’s

only three blocks from the shore of Lake Michigan. Travel to this gorgeous area takes no time at

all. This hotel is in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of downtown, while providing refugee

to even the weariest of travelers. Its acknowledgment and membership in the organizations of

Historic Hotels of America and Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide certainly doesn’t hurt the

reputation of this hotel in any way. This hotel goes beyond expectations when seen in person.

Upon walking into this building, you’re eyes will be delighted by sights of some of the most

fantastic architecture seen today. With the redoing of the hotel in 2008, we see a hotel with the

style of the Victorian Era and the elegance that can only be found in nineteenth-century

buildings. The Pfister is probably most known for the English room. The English room provides

a whole new outlook on the Pfister hotel. It’s a restaurant that’s actually built in with the hotel.

This particular room is designed to look the part of the hotel, while still remaining unique. It
provides food of such a quality, that people come from worldwide just to dine in this luxurious

room. Some people will in fact argue that the English room doesn’t exist. Which, I guess that in

all technicality, they’re right. The English room doesn’t exist physically, but it continues to exist

in spirit and its reputation is continued in the new restaurant called Café Pfister. It continues the

reputation, food and elegance of the old English room, while providing a more homey feeling.

The cost has also gone down; it has become a slightly more affordable option for all people.

With the decline in price, the Café Pfister has become more of a casual dining restaurant with

that pizzazz and reputation of the Pfister. The café had a lot to live up to, with trying to take the

place of the English room. Overall, based on the reviews, it did just that. It also made it easier for

others to go and get a fantastic meal. Ultimately, the Pfister hotel is an amazing place. Its

reputation exceeds far and wide, throughout the whole of the United States and into other parts

of the globe. Providing luxurious accommodations for all guests and an elegance of architecture

that isn’t surpassed in the area, the Pfister hotel will provide you with a comfortable place to rest

your body for the time being. Its location couldn’t get any closer to perfect as it is within walking

distance of much of downtown and Lake Michigan. Finally, the Pfister Café is sure to satisfy

your appetite for food and beauty. Ultimately, the Pfister is the place to be as a tourist in the

downtown Milwaukee area.
