    Textbook prices have risen over 180% since the 1980s, with the average cost per year now over $900. While tuition has increased faster than textbook prices, including book costs in tuition would not help most students as financial aid packages vary. Having a class set of books provided by the university could increase student fees greatly. The best solution is for universities to convert course materials to online e-books, which can cut costs by a third while preventing lost or stolen physical books.
