Performer
The Performing Arts Industry is one of the World’s biggest competitive
industries and one of the World’s strictest professions. It’s a long learning
process which leaves you always challenging to be stronger and better,
whether it’s your acting, singing or dancing capability.

The industry has many doors and opportunities in lots of things, for example,
Musicals, Workshops, Dance Shows and Film. Therefore, for people studying
this skilled art, the most common way into the industry is being a Musical
Theatre performer.

It takes guts, determination, capability and taking rejection to fight through to


the other side of the industry’s gate. Once in, you have to an extent the chance
to be in any musical/acting roles in the industry.

So by going down this route, Up and down the country Colleges have a
National Diploma courses in Musical Theatre, which are approx 2 years and
covers to high levels general areas of acting, dancing and singing. The
courses will also help other areas of the performing industry and lead you
towards a University or Performing Arts School that trains you to get closer to
the profession, by giving you a degree or certification that you studied at the
facility.

After 3 or more years of training at your chosen Uni or Art School, you will be
equipped with your
degree/certificate and will have the skills that lead you to agencies, to gain
employability within the industry.
