Purpose of Drive Test:
Normally, we do drive test:
For optimization of pre-launched sites
To diagnose different issues of 0n-air sites
To check coverage footprint of a cell
To check handovers with neighboring cells
Basic Steps of Drive Test:
Drive test contains following major steps:
Define DT route
Collecting log files
Analysis of log files
Re-drive on questionable data (if any)
Prepare DT Report
Drive Test Tools
We use following tools for DT:
TEMS or NEMO
Mapinfo
Usually, two mobile phones with TEMS software
installed in them
Dongle device (License of TEMS)

produce extra load on the processing system and call
may be dropped if target cell congested rapidly.
Solution

Increasing power Budget handover margin from 6 dB

to 10 dB removes ping pong handovers
