Council sets meeting dates for 2011

Murrindindi Shire Council has set its meeting dates for 2011 and as has been the custom of
Council will again look to host Council meetings across the shire next year.

Mayor Peter Beales said the first two meetings next year would be held in Alexandra, with
Councillors, with the guidance of Council Chief Executive Officer Margaret Abbey, deciding on
appropriate locations throughout the year.

“Our main objective will be trying to accommodate meetings across the shire that have
significant items specific to that location,” Cr Beales said.

“It may be the case that we cannot do this on all occasions, but we believe our system has
worked well and it has given residents the opportunity to participate in the Local Government
meeting process.”

Meeting locations will be advertised in Murri Matters and on Council’s website
