Good morning, all --- here is a media update regarding how today’s snow event is affecting Denver

International Airport:

Light snow is currently falling at DIA with forecasts calling for two-to-four inches of accumulation by
mid-afternoon today.  We’re expecting the possibility of another three-to-five inches of accumulation
between late afternoon and mid-day tomorrow.  Airport crews began pre-treating landside roadways
and parking lots with magnesium chloride this morning and we are currently in full deicing mode
airside.  With approximately 200 pieces of snow removal equipment and more than 500 trained snow
removal personnel, the airport is prepared to handle the last snow storm of 2010.

We’ve received reports that United Airlines has cancelled a handful of flights today as a precautionary
measure, but otherwise all flight operations are normal and on-time at this point.  As with any weather
event – particularly during a busy holiday travel week – we recommend passengers (and those picking
up loved ones arriving in Denver) check with their airlines for the most up-to-date flight information
before heading out the airport, and allow plenty of time for safe travel to and from DIA.  We’d also like
to remind the media and public that our best resource for communicating real-time airport road
conditions, parking, flight and security information, as well as any other operational updates is our
website: www.flydenver.com.  DIA is expecting 166,000 passengers to come through the facility today,
and 139,000 on Friday.

Please remember that tomorrow is a City holiday and our offices will be closed.  Our PIOs are available
for on-camera interviews today; tomorrow we will be limited to phone interviews.  You can reach us
during business hours at 303-342-2250, and afterhours you can reach the on-duty PIO at 303-342-2288.
We’ll send out another email communication later this afternoon or evening if conditions warrant, and
we’ll continue to update our media line with significant information as the storm progresses: 303-342-
2280.

Happy Snow Day, and Happy New Year!
