Q: Why was ‫ ﻭ‬dropped chapter 5 and not in chapter 4?

A: Remember the principle: If ‫ و‬falls between its enemies i.e. ‫ فتحة‬and ‫ كسرة‬, it is
dropped. (see file # 13 for the principle in dropping the ‫)ﻭ‬

As mentioned above, chapter 5 consists 31- 31-33 verbs only (there is a difference of opinion
as it relates the numbers). These verbs are divided into 2:

• 19-20 verbs - ‫َف ِع َل‬ only comes as ‫ َي ْف ِع ُل‬- ‫َف ِع َل‬

• 12–13 verbs- ‫َف ِع َل‬ comes with both ‫ َي ْف ِع ُل‬- ‫َف ِع َل‬ or ‫ َي ْف َع ُل‬- ‫َف ِع َل‬
