The Christmas Mouse

By Stacie W Beliveau

Christmas is to celebrate
The birth of Christ, God incarnate
Who gave His life so we might live
And so we gather here to give.

For others it’s a time of year

To love your neighbor far and near
And spread the joy to all our friends
To reunite and make amends.

So, gather at the Great Gnarled Tree

And in the quaint Town of Digby
Gather on the Elub Shore
And even at the sweet Harbour.

Raise your voices loud and high,

ALL MICE MUST DIE! ALL MICE MUST DIE!
Except, of course, the Christmas Mouse
Who brings us gifts into our house.

He delivers toys and gold

For boys and girls, both young and old
For hunters ranked from high to low
To every house this mouse must go.

So bless us, God, in every place,

Of every color, creed and race.
And help us spread goodwill and cheer,
And grant us all a GREAT NEW YEAR!
