Setting the Agenda

Objectives

• To actively encourage individual and community action


'Towards Zero Waste' in Wales.

• To educate and raise awareness of Waste Impacts,


'Think Global, Act Local'.

• To promote low-impact solutions for Community


Recycling.
Third Sector Benefits

Utilising existing facilties provided by the public and private


sectors to improve service provision, is an integral part of low
cost local environmental management and community
development. 

An integrated approach to:


Society;
Economy;
Environment;
is required for longevity and continuance. 

Community Interest Companies (CICs) offer opportunities for


skill sharing, knowledge transfer and local empowerment.

• Probation Service can provide personnel to assist the


segregation of recyclates.
• All Stewards, volunteers and supporters of Pontardawe
2009 are proactively encouraged to participate in Recycling
on site.
• Collection Points will be setup across the site to enable for
better access and infrastructure requirements.
• A Central Recycling Point is used for safe and secure
segregation and storage of wastes and recyclates.
