    Gauss Rifle: A Magnetic Linear Accelerator

    Objectives/Goals
     Testing the effect, on velocities produced, of different
    magnet spacing on a Gauss Rifle
    Methods/Materials
     Initially we built a magnetic linear accelerator out of a
    series of magnets and ball bearings. The magnets were
    secured to a channeled piece of wood, with two ball
    bearings following each magnet.
    Conclusions/Discussion
    My design is fairly conclusive. However, In the original Gauss rifle, it has
    some drawbacks, because of the variations shown after the fourth and fifth
    Magnets.

    Hence I am going to build another model of the Gauss Rifle. This model
    would use magnets in a effective way in order to achieve high velocity while
    it the increases. Thus it can be used as a gun/toy for teenagers.
