How do I love my

Neighbour?
There are various things we can do to grow
together in peace with our neighbours of other
faiths:

• Get to know each other in a personal way,

simply as fellow human beings. Do we talk to
them at school or on the bus?

• Personal contact is the strongest bridge we can

build. Knowing a person is more important than
knowing about a person. Friendship overcomes
prejudice and fear of any kind.
• Learn about each other's faith, listening to
each other in love, speaking the truth in love,
and accepting in love that we do not always
agree.

• There are practical things that we can do

together for the good of our society: working for
the poor and homeless, the housebound,
refugees and asylum seekers, for human rights,
and supporting marriage and family life.

• God will help us to love our neighbours.

 Almighty God, help us to reach out in
friendship to our neighbours of different
faiths. Destroy the prejudice that divides
us and give us instead the gift of love that
unites us. For you are Lord, for ever and
ever, Amen.
