Oxfam Hunger Banquet

6:00 - 8:00pm

Banquet Program
5:30 pm – 6:00 pm ResLife Staff arrives to the Grand Salon room to set up for the
program

6:00 – 6:15 pm Greet guest and have them draw tickets; direct guest to their income
groups.

6:15 pm – 6:20 pm Welcome address by host. Includes acknowledgement sponsors and


people who have helped make the even possible.

6:20 pm – 6:35 pm MC reads the Hunger Banquet script describing the three income
groups, move up/down scenarios.

6:35 pm – 6:50 pm Meal is eaten.


6:50 – 7:15 pm MC asks for a moment of silence to reflect on their experience and
feeling about the Hunger Banquet. Sharing period: MC walks among audience and asks
participants to talk about their reflections and feelings. One of two people circulate with
cordless microphones to give other participants a chance to share

7:15 pm – 7:30 pm Conclusions: information on how participants can help (donations to


Oxfam, joining an Oxfam campus group, community service opportunities, etc.)

Banquet Menu
High Class (14)
Vegetable Lasagna; served with potato, vegetable, salad, dessert. Includes rolls and
butter, coffee, decaf, tea, iced tea, and water.
$8.00/per person. Served meals $2.00 extra.

Middle Class (27)


Sack Dinner
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, crisps, can of soda

Low Class (49)
