Title: Introduction to Molecular Biology Notation and Calculation

Introduction :

For a students,researchers and scientist,the use of scientific notation is very significant.This

happened as they will have to measures the subjects or samples with size that cannot be seen by
naked eye and weighed cannot be simply measured.

For example,molecular biologist will have to measure a cell weigh 0.0000000000035 grams.The
extreme numbers are hard to memorize nor analyzed quickly.Besides,the molarity of a solution,cell
counts in blood,temperature or pH of a solution,all can be measured precisely using scientific
notation.

Hence,the scientific notations is very useful in work especially with extreme and extraordinary
numbers.It helps to cope and ease the calculation and give a very precise results.

In this practical,a knowledge on some major concept in molecular biology laboratory will be reviewed
such as:

i. Exponents and scientific notation

ii. Metric prefixes
iii. Preparing and making solution
