(1) THE AIM OF THE EXPERIMENT

The aim of the experiment is to determine the reaction forces and the deformation of a simply
supported beam and to compare the experimental results with the analytical ones.

(2)DESCRIPTION OF THE SETUP

Experimental setup consists of the following.

(1)Test structure

(2)Dead weights:Motionless mass.

(3)Beam

(4)Load Cells:Is an electronic device that is used to convert a force into an electrical signal.

(5)Dial Gauges:Measurement results(deflection) are displayed. It is used to joint the piece to the disc
according to axis.

(6)Multimeters:They are very useful electronic test instruments. They can be quickly and easily set to
be a voltmeter,an ammeter and an ohmmeter.

(7)Power Supply:Is a reference to a source of electrical power.

(3)PROCEDURE

First:Measure dead weights and write on it.We added wire weight(10 gr)to each of them.

Second:Load cell is calibrated before the measurement process.

Third:We add beam to the system

Fourt:Add a dead weight to the beam and measure their positions.

Fifth:We read the deflections(dial gages)

We read the multimeters(voltage)

Sixth:We get different results from this experiment.

At the end we compare our experimental and analytical results.

(4)CALIBRATION OF LOAD CELLS

We calibrated the load cells before measuring our values and we noticed that the loads cells are set
so close to each other to get approximate results with lesser errors.
