NIGHT MARKETS

Shilin Night Market (Jiantan MRT Station)

Taipei's Shilin Night Market is one of the most exciting night markets around. The Market is
actually much closer to the Jiantan MRT station than the Shilin MRT station. One of the area's
chief attractions is food- there is an indoor market filled with hundreds of small vendors,
eaching selling delicious Taiwanese food, including chicken steak (jhi-pai), bubble milk tea
(jhen-jhu nai cha), mango milk (man-guo niu nai), oyster noodles (oa mi-sua), and stinky tofu
(chou do-fu), all very reasonably priced. There is a seperate shopping part of the night market,
where it's possible to buy t-shirts, watches, fake designer goods, and almost anything else
imaginable, at prices that range from extremely cheap to unreasonably expensive.
