    The Kalabagh Dam was designed in 1984 with a total projected cost of $3.46 billion and coordination from the World Bank. It would be located near the town of Kalabagh along the Indus River, with a catchment area of 110,500 square kilometers. The dam would have a maximum height of 260 feet and storage capacity of 7.9 million acre feet, generating 3,600 MW of hydroelectric power annually. While the dam would provide irrigation, flood control, water storage and hydroelectric power, concerns exist that it could displace large numbers of people and impact surrounding areas through flooding.
